Theme & presentation
I’ve reviewed enough Push Gaming titles to know they rarely phone in the art, and Mad Blast keeps that streak going. It’s a grimy little workshop-meets-demolition affair: bolts, blast caps, cartoon dynamite and mad-robot builds, with a fuse that lights as the multiplier climbs. The animation is snappy, the sound design has that satisfying clunk-and-boom feedback loop Push does well, and nothing on screen is trying to give me a headache. It’s not reinventing anything visually — we’ve seen the “explosive symbols on a grungy grid” look a hundred times — but it’s clean, readable and doesn’t outstay its welcome. Competent, not iconic.
How it plays
Forget “5-reel” in the traditional payline sense — this is a 5x6 grid (5 reels, 6 rows) running Scatter Pays, so you need at least 8 matching symbols anywhere on the screen to score. Wins trigger a cascade: winners vanish, new symbols drop in, and you keep going until a spin comes up dry. The hook is the Total Multiplier. It starts at x1 and doubles with every consecutive winning cascade — x2, x4, x8 and upward, all the way to a ceiling of x2,048 — resetting the moment a cascade fails. So your whole session becomes a game of chasing chains before the fuse burns out. It’s tense in the right way, and the doubling curve means a modest cluster streak can suddenly matter.
The feature
The headline mode is Free Spins, landed with 3, 4 or 5 scatters (8, 10 or 12 spins, starting the multiplier ladder higher the more scatters you drop — x2, x4 or x8 respectively). Supporting acts do the heavy lifting: the Multiplier Boost symbol bumps the Total Multiplier by 1 to 5 steps when it’s part of a win, and the Extra Life symbol can clear low-paying symbols on a dead cascade to keep your chain alive. In Free Spins there’s the Multiplier Strike Out — after three consecutive wins it deletes the last active multiplier step (but never the x2,048 ceiling). And yes, there’s a Bonus Buy: 150x for the base free spins, 750x for the juiced version. Buy-in slots are a personal eye-roll, but at least the pricing here is honest about what you’re paying for.
The numbers, straight
- Max win: 10,000x (well-corroborated across Push Gaming’s official page and multiple slot databases)
- RTP: 96.34% default (with lower 94.30% and 85.43% operator configs floating around — check the game’s info panel before you play)
- Volatility: High
- Reels/ways: 5x6 grid, Scatter Pays (8+ symbols to win)
- Released: February 2025
- Hit rhythm: unverified — Push doesn’t publish a hit frequency here, but in demo it plays like a typical high-vol cascade slot: long stretches of dead air punctuated by the occasional multiplier run
Verdict
Mad Blast is a solid, well-built cascade slot that does exactly what it says on the tin and not a great deal more. The doubling-multiplier chase is genuinely engaging, the feature set is coherent, and 96.34% is a fair top-line RTP for the category. But 10,000x is fairly modest for a “high volatility” 2025 release when rivals are pushing 20,000x and beyond, and nothing here surprised me. Good, not great.
SlotWhizz rating: 3.5/5. A competent, replayable grinder that’s more fun than it is memorable — just remember that even at the best-case 96.34% config, the house keeps roughly 3.66% of every wager over the long run (more on the lower RTP tiers), so the edge is baked in no matter how the fuse burns.
18+. Demo for fun, not profit. A demo can’t lose your cash, but it can’t win it either; over time the edge is always the casino’s. Play responsibly.
