Theme & presentation
Another candy slot. I know, I know — hold the groans, because we’ve all sat through enough gummy-bear grids to last three lifetimes. Candy Blast, released by Push Gaming in March 2025, does the sugary thing competently rather than memorably: a bright 6x5 board stacked with lollipops, jellies and boiled sweets, all rendered with the crisp, slightly-too-clean sheen Push tends to favour. The rainbow cupcake scatter is the one symbol with any personality. It’s pleasant, it’s polished, and it is about as thematically daring as a bowl of Werther’s Originals. Presentation gets a nod; originality does not.
How it plays
This is a scatter-pays (or “pay anywhere”) game, not a payline machine — land eight or more matching symbols anywhere on the grid and you’re paid, winners vanish, and fresh symbols cascade down. Standard cluster-adjacent fare, and Push execute it smoothly. What actually drives the game is the Total Multiplier: every winning cascade bumps it up a step, doubling as it climbs, all the way to a punchy x2,048. That’s the hook. On a long cascade chain the numbers can genuinely run, and the sound design leans into it nicely. In practice, though, most spins fizzle after a cascade or two, which is exactly what you’d expect from a game pitched this high on the volatility scale.
The feature
The headline event is the Free Spins bonus, triggered by three or more rainbow cupcake scatters — three lands you eight spins on a x2 starting multiplier, scaling up to twelve spins and a x8 start for five. Inside, the Total Multiplier persists and keeps climbing toward that x2,048 ceiling, and a couple of supporting mechanics come into play — Multiplier Boost and Extra Life symbols, plus a Multiplier Strike Out wrinkle that, after three consecutive winning cascades, strips out the lowest active multiplier step for the rest of the round (it can’t touch the top 2,048x). There’s also a Push Bet side option that ups your bonus-trigger odds for double the stake, and a Feature Buy for the impatient (150x for the x2 entry, 750x for the x8). I’ll be honest: I couldn’t get a big-win bonus to land in demo, so I’m going on the documented mechanics here rather than a triumphant screenshot. The structure is sound; whether it pays like the maths promises is the eternal high-vol gamble.
The numbers, straight
- Max win: 10,000x stake (confirmed via BigWinBoard, SlotCatalog and Push Gaming’s own release notes)
- RTP: 96.34% headline, with operator tiers of 94.30% and a grim 85.43% — check which one your casino is actually running
- Volatility: High
- Reels/ways: 6x5 grid, scatter-pays (8+ symbols anywhere), cascading
- Hit rhythm: frequent small cascades that mostly die young; the meaningful money is gated behind the multiplier chain and free spins
Verdict
Candy Blast is a solid, well-built Push Gaming slot that does nothing I haven’t seen a dozen times before. The x2,048 Total Multiplier is a genuinely satisfying engine and the 10,000x ceiling is respectable, but the theme is wallpaper and the base game asks for patience most sessions won’t reward. If your operator is serving the 94.30% or — heaven forbid — 85.43% tier, mentally dock it further. Fine, not fizzy.
SlotWhizz rating: 3.7/5. A competent high-vol cascader worth a spin if the multiplier mechanic appeals — but remember the RTP tiers bake in a permanent house edge that only widens on the lower ones, so the math favours the casino every session.
