Full Moon Romance is Thunderkick doing what Thunderkick usually does: taking a daft premise and treating it with more craft than it strictly deserves. The setup is a moonlit teen-movie romance between Jack and Rosie that curdles into a werewolf B-picture. It’s charming in that slightly self-aware, drive-in-cinema way, and the art direction sells it — soft night-time palette, a big low-hanging moon, a title card that reads “Puppy Love” when things go furry. The animations are unhurried and the sound design leans into the schmaltz-meets-horror gag. It looks its 2017 age in places, but it has personality, which is more than most.

How it plays

Nothing exotic in the base mechanics — you’re matching left-to-right, and the top-paying Sweetheart symbols (Jack and Rosie) are the ones you’re chasing.
