Betting Tax Calculator
In Kenya and several other markets, betting is taxed twice — an excise duty on your stake and a withholding tax on winnings. Enter your bet and the current rates to see exactly what the taxman takes and what actually lands in your account.
How betting tax works
Excise duty is charged on the amount you stake — in Kenya it's usually deducted before your bet is placed, so less of your money actually backs the bet. Withholding tax is then taken from your winnings (your profit) if the bet wins. Both reduce your real return, on top of the bookmaker's built-in margin.
⚠ Rates change often and differ by country. Kenya's excise and withholding rates have been revised several times by the Finance Act — always confirm the current KRA / local rate and plug it in above. This tool is a modelling aid, not tax advice.
