Giants & Sheep

I went into Giants & Sheep expecting a novelty gag and came out mildly charmed, which is roughly the same emotional arc as watching a cartoon giant flick a sheep off a cliff. Relax Gaming leaned into the daft folktale premise, credit where due, committed to it.

Theme & presentation

The pitch is exactly what it says: hulking giants, nervous sheep, and a storybook art style that sits somewhere between a children’s picture book and a pub sign. It’s colourful, cleanly drawn, and the giants have genuine character when they lumber in to prod the reels. The soundtrack is pleasant folk-adjacent noodling that I stopped noticing after ten spins, which is usually the sign of competent-but-forgettable audio. Nothing here is ugly, but nothing made me screenshot it either. It looks like a 2025 Relax game: polished, safe, professionally inoffensive.

How it plays

Standard 5-reel, 4-row grid with 40 fixed paylines, so no reinvention of the wheel. The hook is the Giant symbols, which drop onto the grid in 2x2, 3x3 or 4x4 blocks. When a giant punches or prods the reel frame it either expands its wilds to fill a whole reel or spreads them to adjacent positions. Wilds also carry multipliers of x2, x3, x5 or x10, and when several land in the same win those multipliers compound. That’s the engine that theoretically drags you toward the ceiling. In practice the base game is a slow simmer, which the medium volatility label promises and mostly delivers.

The feature

The headline bonus is the Free Spins round, triggered by 3, 4 or 5 scatters for 6, 8 or 10 spins. The twist is that at the start the game randomly assigns one of three modes: Extra Bonus (more scatters, so more retriggers), Extra Wilds (extra wilds seeded in) or Extra Giants (a guaranteed 2x2 giant each spin). Extra Giants is the one you want and the one you’ll rarely be handed, which is the whole tension. Retriggers add +1 spin each. It’s a tidy system, though the random-mode assignment means a chunk of your bonuses feel like consolation prizes before they’ve even begun. Giants & Sheep is a competent, likeable, fundamentally middle-of-the-road slot. The giant-and-wild interaction is a nice bit of theatre, the three free-spin modes add just enough variance to keep me clicking, and 10,000x is a respectable if unspectacular ceiling for medium volatility. But there’s no idea here I haven’t seen dressed up before, and the random-mode lottery inside the bonus can feel deflating. Fun for a session, not a keeper.
