Theme & presentation
Another day, another trip up Mount Olympus. Divine Anarchy drops you in front of a weathered Greek temple where caricatured deities, Zeus scowling, Medusa doing her thing, glower out of a 6-reel grid. Relax Gaming has done this dress-up before, and honestly the art here is competent rather than memorable: crisp symbols, a bit of storm-and-marble atmosphere, and a soundtrack that swells on cue without ever getting under your skin. It looks the part. It also looks like roughly forty other mythology slots I’ve reviewed recently, which is the trouble with the theme rather than a fault of the studio.
How it plays
This is a cluster-pays game, not a paylines one, so you’re chasing groups of five or more matching symbols rather than left-to-right lines. The wrinkle is a level-progression system: you bank winning symbols to climb through tiers, and each tier switches on a modifier, Colossal Symbols, Symbol Destroy, Extra Wilds, Symbol Transform, while the grid itself expands from 6x5 up to 6x6 at the top end. It’s a satisfying loop on paper. In practice the base game can feel like a slow escalator: plenty of small clears, plenty of “almost,” and long stretches where you’re grinding toward the next level rather than actually winning anything worth a fist-pump.
The feature
The headline act is Divine Free Spins, triggered by landing three Scatters (or bought directly for 75x if you can’t be bothered waiting, which, high volatility being what it is, is a tempting and expensive habit). You start with 10 spins and a 1x multiplier, and the whole point is to keep collecting Scatters mid-round to ratchet the global multiplier up through the tiers toward 10x, with retriggers extending your stay. When it clicks, the escalating multiplier over expanding clusters is genuinely where the game earns its keep, and with a 10,000x ceiling there’s a real jackpot waiting at the top of that climb. When it doesn’t, and it often doesn’t, you watch a 3x multiplier sit uselessly over a string of tiny clears and the round fizzles. Rewarding ceiling, streaky floor.
The numbers, straight
- Max win: 10,000x your stake. This is confirmed by Relax’s own game data, and the aggregators agree. One database is the lone outlier at 1,000x, which reads as a single-source typo against the consensus rather than a genuine alternative configuration.
- RTP: 96.10% on the standard build. As is now normal for Relax titles, operators may run other tiers, published figures put the Mega Bet at 96.11% and the Feature Buy at 96.56%, so check the paytable at your casino before you sit down.
- Volatility: High.
- Reels/ways: 6-reel cluster-pays grid, starting at 6x5 and expanding up to 6x6 through the levels.
- Hit rhythm: Frequent small cluster clears in the base game, but meaningful pay is back-loaded into the levels and Divine Free Spins, expect a lot of nothing between the moments that matter.
Verdict
Divine Anarchy is a well-made slot that I only warm to when the bonus warms up. The level-up modifiers and the multiplier-climbing free spins give it more of a spine than the average Greek-myth retread, and that 10,000x cap means the good sessions can genuinely roar rather than merely tick along. But the base game drags, the theme is exhausted, and the payoff hinges entirely on a bonus that’s as capable of whimpering as it is of delivering. There’s a strong session buried in here; you just have to survive a lot of flat ones to reach it.
SlotWhizz rating: 3.6/5. A high-ceiling but streaky high-volatility grinder, and remember the maths are built to favour the house on every spin no matter how the features land, so 96.10% RTP still means the operator keeps its edge over time.
