Theme & presentation
Angel Princess is Blueprint Gaming’s 2017 stab at the fairy-garden fantasy that a hundred other studios have already worn threadbare. You get a soft-focus enchanted glade, dragonflies, doves, butterflies, and a serene winged princess presiding over five reels like she’s mildly embarrassed to be here. It’s pretty in a screensaver way, and the chimes-and-harp soundtrack is pleasant for about four minutes before it dissolves into background noise. Nothing here is ugly, but nothing here is memorable either. If you’ve played one Blueprint fantasy cabinet, you’ve broadly seen this one — competent, clean, and a bit anonymous.
How it plays
Standard fare: 5 reels, 40 fixed paylines, stacked wilds, and a scatter. The wild substitutes for everything bar the scatter and stacks tall enough to occasionally paint a reel gold, which is where the base-game grins come from. Blueprint also sprinkles in randomly-triggered base-game modifiers — mystery-symbol spins where a batch of Angel Princess logos drop in and transform into a single matching symbol. When they fire, the reels wake up. When they don’t, you’re clicking spin and watching low-value royals shuffle past. The rhythm is fine, unremarkable, and honest about being a slot machine.
The feature
The main event is the Enchanted Free Spins round, triggered by the bonus/logo symbols and awarding five free games. During these spins, Angel Princess logos are added to the reels and any in view at the end transform into the same random symbol (scatter excepted) — the mechanic that carries the round. The wrinkle worth noting is the gamble ladder: on trigger you can bank the standard bonus or gamble it upward through Super, Mega, and Epic Bonus tiers, each adding more mystery symbols and scatters to sweeten the reels. It’s a genuine risk-reward decision, and it’s the most interesting thing the game does. Five spins is stingy, but retriggers exist. Note there’s also a separate Jackpot King (progressive) edition of this game floating around casino lobbies — different maths, and the source of a lot of the confused numbers below.
The numbers, straight
- Max win: unverified. Our catalog figure is unreliable and I couldn’t confirm a definitive base-game cap across independent sources — several list it as undisclosed (N/A), one cites 250,000 coins, and others quote 5,000x but appear to conflate the standard game with the Jackpot King edition. Treat any single number with suspicion until Blueprint’s own paytable confirms it.
- RTP: tiered — this game genuinely ships in configurable versions, so the return you actually get depends on the operator. The 92.51% listed here sits in the low-to-mid band; published values range from roughly 89–90% at the bottom (90.21% is a commonly cited setting) up toward the mid-90s (95.31% and higher). 92.51% is below average and worth checking before you spin.
- Volatility: medium to medium-high, depending who you ask. Expect swingier sessions than a flat “medium” tag suggests.
- Reels / ways: 5 reels, 40 fixed paylines.
- Hit rhythm: reasonably frequent small hits in the base game thanks to stacked wilds and mystery modifiers; the real money sits behind that gamble ladder you may never reach.
Verdict
Angel Princess is a perfectly serviceable, slightly dated Blueprint slot that does one clever thing — the gambleable Enchanted Free Spins ladder — and surrounds it with generic fantasy wallpaper. The tiered RTP is the thing to watch: the same game can run anywhere from a punishing sub-90% setting up into the mid-90s, so the version your casino picked matters more than anything on the reels. And with the max win genuinely unconfirmed, I can’t in good conscience promise you a headline payout that anyone has actually verified. Fine to spin, easy to forget.
SlotWhizz rating: 3.0/5. A competent, forgettable game whose tiered RTP means you should check the version before you play — and remember that at any tier the maths are built to keep a house edge, so the machine wins over time.
